What are the dimensions of roughcast stones used in construction?
Shenyang Jinggang Wollastonite Mining Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the construction rough stone industry for many years and boasts extensive experience. Below, we’ll introduce you to the dimensions of construction rough stones, hoping to help you gain a deeper understanding of this industry. Construction rough stones are irregularly shaped blocks obtained directly after blasting at quarries. Based on the smoothness of their surfaces, they are classified into two types: random rough stones and planed rough stones. Generally, construction rough stones are required to have a minimum thickness of 150 mm in the middle part, a length ranging from 300 to 400 mm, and a weight of approximately 20 to 30 kg. Their strength should not be less than 10 MPa, and their softening coefficient should not be lower than 0.75. They are commonly used for masonry.

Wollastonite has the chemical formula Ca3[Si3O9]. It crystallizes in the triclinic system and belongs to the single-chain silicate mineral group. It typically occurs in flaky, radial, or fibrous aggregates. Its color is white with a slight grayish tinge. It exhibits a vitreous luster and pearly luster on cleavage surfaces. Its hardness ranges from 4.5 to 5.0. Cleavage is perfect parallel to {100} and moderate parallel to {001}; the angle between these two cleavage planes is 74°. Its density is 2.78 to 2.91 grams per cubic centimeter. Wollastonite is primarily found in contact metamorphic zones where acidic intrusive rocks come into contact with limestone, serving as a major mineral constituent of skarns. Additionally, it can also be found in certain deeply metamorphosed rocks. It is used in the production of paper, ceramics, cement, rubber, plastics, and other materials.
