Its density is 2.78 to 2.91 grams per cubic centimeter. Wollastonite is primarily found in contact metamorphic zones where acidic intrusive rocks come into contact with limestone; it is a major mineral constituent of skarns. Additionally, it can also be found in certain deeply metamorphosed rocks. It is used in papermaking.
