Wollastonite is a triclinic mineral characterized by fine, platy crystals that often aggregate in radiating or fibrous forms. Its hardness ranges from 4.5 to 5.5, and its density is between 2.75 and 3.10 g/cm³. It is completely soluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid. It features low water absorption and oil absorption, superior mechanical and electrical properties, and a certain reinforcing effect. Wollastonite products are characterized by long, easily separable fibers with low iron content and high whiteness. These products are mainly used as reinforcing fillers in polymer-based composite materials, such as plastics, rubber, ceramics, coatings, and construction materials.
